Job Description
***Only qualified Network Engineer candidates located near the Saint Paul, MN area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***
Desired Skills:
• Three (3) or more years of network hardware and software technology experience
• Expert knowledge of Cisco hardware switches, VPN and IOS
• Expert knowledge and skills in TCP/IP
• Expert knowledge of network test equipment, including Sniffers and other protocol analyzers Savvius OmniPeek
• Ability to perform advanced technical issue analysis and troubleshooting within a router/switch infrastructure
• Knowledge of Network Quality of Service (QOS) techniques and network Management systems
• Strong analytical, oral, and written communication, problem-solving, and human relations skills
• Experience with CheckPoint, Palo Alto, 9300, Catalyst series switches, and operating system (NX-OS)
• Experience with Software Defined Networking solutions
• Experience with F5 Big IP (LTM, ASM, AFM, APM)
The hiring Manager is seeking one full-time Network Engineer to help support, maintain, and configure network equipment including Cisco switches, Wireless, ASA VPN, Checkpoint firewalls, Palo Alto and F5 load balancers.
Network Engineer Responsibilities:
• Perform network system administration duties as necessary for system availability, maintainability, and security
• Responsible for ensuring service tickets or requests to be performed on Cisco VPN, Firepower, IPS, and Prime are completed and working with BCA Networking groups when needed
• Develop, document, and apply Cisco ASA, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Catalyst, and 9300 switch configurations for CJIS services
• Identify routine networking tasks or requests coming to the Networking group and develop processes to allow the Service Desk to submit tickets directly where appropriate
• Develop, document, and support SolarWinds Orion, KIWI Syslog and Savvius configurations
• Execute unit and integration testing procedures
• Provide knowledge transfer
Schedule Notes:
The work is expected to be hybrid, part remote and part in-person. The resource will be expected to be in the office 2 days per week minimum may vary based on workload. One of the days on-site must be Monday or Friday each week.
